Guitar Tunings
The guitar has various tunings for the strings.
There are also many tunings used in ki ho 'alu (slack key guitar). Ki ho 'alu is a style developed in Hawaii. It dates back to the late 1800's.
Standard Tuning: starting with the top string.
This is the most common tuning. It is used for most music.
Drop-D Tuning: starting with the top string.
This tuning is used by heavy rock music. It allows playing "Power Chords" with just one finger.
Double Drop-D Tuning: starting with the top string.
This tuning is used by heavy rock music. It allows playing "Power Chords" with just one finger. And it makes playing Barre Chords easier.
